Proposal to amend the Health Regulation on sugars and honey

Proposed amendment to Ministry of Health Supreme Decree No. 977/96, Food Health Regulations, Section XVII on sugars and honey, Article 383, paragraph 1 on sugars.
In recent years, two new low-energy sugars have appeared on the Chilean food market: "Alulosa" and "Tagatosa". The notified proposal seeks to address the health regulations governing these ingredients, in the context of the country's existing food and nutrition regulations and taking into account, inter alia, their chemical properties, the evidence concerning their metabolic effects, and relevant provisions set out in food regulations in other countries.
