The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has published a Draft Amendment to amend the Order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine No. 157 of April 13, 2016". The Draft aims to incorporate into the national legislation provisions prohibiting the use of the terms “chocolate”, “white chocolate”, “milk chocolate”, “family milk chocolate”, “cup chocolate” and “family cup chocolate” in food products containing vegetable fats other than those meeting the Requirements for Cocoa and Chocolate Products, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine No. 157 of April 13, 2016.
These terms refer to specific names of food products that can be used only if the relevant provisions of the above-mentioned requirements are fully complied with and used in trade to identify such products. These terms may also be used as part of the names of other products, provided that their use does not mislead consumers.
