New rules for labeling trans fatty acid

The National Quality Institute (Inacal in Spanish) approved the new edition of the technical standard that establishes the appropriate way to provide information on the content of trans fatty acids (TFA) in the labeling of packaged foods.

The trans fatty acid content must be expressed as "trans fat", "trans fat", "trans fatty acids" or TFA.
