FSSAI order regarding use of names of probiotics

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) received requests from various stakeholders to allow the use of old or new names of probiotic strains for product packaging. After due consideration of the stakeholder requests, it has been decided to allow the use of old or new names of probiotic strains for product packaging until further notice, as it does not compromise the safety of food products and also allowed by other regulator worldwide.
