Consultation on packaged food labeling

The Department of Health in conjunction with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) conducted a Public Consultation on Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labelling, Nutrient Profiles, Origin Labelling and Date Marking in Quarter 1, 2021. The public consultation sought to gather views of relevant stakeholders and interested parties ahead of the proposal of changes to the current rules on the labelling of pre-packed food products under Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, known as the Food Information to Consumers (FIC) Regulation. The published report summarises the submissions made to the public consultation.
Consultation with stakeholders will continue in 2022, both at national and EU level.
