MFDS announces modification of food labeling rules

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has published an amendment to the “Rules for Food Labeling”. The main changes are:
1. to allow the use of stickers with labeling information in Korean on export foods printed in foreign languages.
2. Adding sugary products, butter products and processed foods of animal origin to the list of products that must display nutrition labels.
The amendment takes effect from the date of its issuance.
