Prime Minister signs order introducing mandatory labelling for various types of consumer products including packaged foods

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order expanding the list of products subject to mandatory labeling in the state system “Honest Sign”.
According to the order, the extension will cover several groups of products. Thus, from March 1, 2025, mandatory labeling will be introduced for certain types of edible products and other foodstuffs on consumer packages. Among other things, this will affect spices, condiments, potato chips, nachos, crackers, croutons, corn sticks, breadsticks, prepared popcorn, sauces, spices, dry broths, soups and various types of dry vinegar.
As of March 1, 2025, mandatory labeling of another category of products will begin in Russia: cosmetics and household chemicals. The list includes products such as soaps, detergents, deodorants, hair and shaving products, makeup and skin care products, as well as toothpastes and other similar products.
