Authorities set deadline for compliance with food labelling regulations

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) has issued an official notice (N°: MCI/JM/DGQPC/0018/08/24) reminding manufacturers, importers and distributors of Haitian food products of the importance of respecting the provisions relating to the labeling of food products. This reminder is part of the decree of March 11, 2020, concerning the safety of goods and services, the fairness of economic transactions and consumer protection, in particular its article 14.
The ministry has set October 1, 2024 as the deadline for complying with this regulation. Any product, local or imported, that does not comply with these requirements will be withdrawn from the market.
