SAMR Consults on Guideline for Iconic Nutrition Labelling for Prepackaged Food

The State Administration for Market Administration (SAMR) consulted on Guidelines on Graphic Symbol of Front-of-pack Nutrition labelling in Prepackaged Food. The draft is a voluntary GB/Z standard on front-of-pack nutrition labelling (FOPNL), aiming to guide the rational intake of oil, salt and sugar.
The draft voluntary standard details the relevant terms and definitions of front-of-package nutrition labels on prepackaged foods (hereinafter "FOPNL"), the basic principles to be followed when using them, specific classifications and related requirements. Applicable to prepackaged foods provided directly to consumers as stipulated in GB 7718, bulk foods and ready-to-sell foods may be implemented by reference. Not applicable to prepackaged foods, special dietary foods, health foods, and salt, edible oil, sugar and other condiments that are not provided directly to consumers.
