South Korea announces changes to food labelling rules

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announces the review of the Food Labeling Regulation. This review mainly aims to address the shrinkflation practice, and enhance the labeling requirements of sweeteners. Other labeling requirements are also improved according to the new version, such as improving the labeling methods to make alcohol's calories more visible, establishing the legal ground to indicate that a product is for infants or young children, and optimizing the requirements for labeling blended edible oils.
