India approves proposal for bolder nutritional information on food labelling

On July 6th, 2024, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) endorsed a proposal to highlight nutritional information such as Total Sugar, Salt, and Saturated Fat in bold letters and larger font sizes on packaged food labels.
The amendment, approved during the 44th meeting of the Food Authority, aims to empower consumers with clearer insights into product nutrition. The draft notification will soon be published for public feedback.
