Apr 29, 2024

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has approved amendments to the technical regulations of the Customs Union “On the Safety of Food Products” and “Food Products Labeling”, which are mainly related to the question of whether the labels need to be replaced in case of a change of information on the producer's production address.

The amendments were proposed by the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with appeals to government agencies from food manufacturers who were facing problems in replacing the labeling of food products in the event of renaming a city, region, street, etc...

The amendment establishes that within 36 months from the date of the renaming, it is allowed to release into circulation food products with the previous location information, provided that the actual geographical location and the actual place of production remain unchanged.
