FSSAI approves amendments to streamline Food Safety and Standards Regulations

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has approved various amendments to streamline the Food Safety and Standards Regulations.
Among the amendments are the repeal of mandatory Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and AGMARK certifications, the revision of the standards for Milk Fat Products and the introduction of a new standard for "Haleem" as part of standards for meat products.
Before finalizing the amendments FSSAI will issue a draft notification to seek stakeholders' comments.
