New Draft Technical Regulation on Gluten-free food

The National Institute of Food and Nutrition (INAN in Spanish) has published the draft "Technical Regulation on Composition and Labeling of Gluten-Free Packaged Foods".

The draft Regulation aims at establishing:

  • the requirements for foods packaged in the absence of the consumer which are marketed as gluten-free, whether domestically produced or imported;
  • the control measures to ensure that the consumer has accurate, clear and truthful information on the absence of gluten in the packaged foods.
