INDECOPI ratifies the faculty of the Ministry of Health to regulate food advertising warnings

The Specialized Chamber for the Elimination of Bureaucratic Barriers (SEL) of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI in Spanish) declared, in the second and last administrative instance, that the established requirements do not constitute illegal bureaucratic barriers by the Ministry of Health on the advertising warnings of food and non-alcoholic beverages, with octagons, which contain trans fats and high content of sugar, sodium and saturated fats, materialized in the Regulation of the Food Promotion Law Healthy and in the Manual of Advertising Warnings.
