FSSAI extends compliance period for mandatory warning on Pan Masala

On November 7th, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has granted an extension of the time-period for the compliance with the provision mandating the warning statement for "Pan Masala", specified in the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Second Amendment Regulations, 2022 - Direction under Section 16 (5) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
The enforcement of the above mentioned provision has been deferred for a period of six months with effect from 1st November 2023.
