MFDS issues Labeling guidelines for plant based food sustitute to meat

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS in English) has issued the "Alternative Foods Labeling Guidelines" which contains the standards and methods that must be observed by business operators who wish to label their products as “substitute foods” made similar to animal foods by using plant-based ingredients.
As consumer interest in alternative foods increases and related markets grow rapidly around the world, this guideline supports the development of diverse products with a labeling and advertising explaining the characteristics of alternative foods while supporting consumer awareness and ensuring the right to know and to choose.
