Proposed changes to nutrition labeling adopted

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health (MOH) released an updated draft circular regarding the nutrition labelling on food products.

Article 1. Scope of application

1. This REGULATION stipulates the content and manner of recording nutritional ingredients and nutritional values on food labels and the implementation roadmap for food produced, traded, imported and distributed in Vietnam.

2. This Circular does not apply to the following foods:

  • Food ingredients that are not sold directly to consumers;
  • Single ingredient foods;
  • Natural mineral water, bottled drinking water (including those containing only CO2 and/or flavorings);
  • Food salt.
