India - Advisory related to Requirement of BIS Certification prior to import of Packaged Drinking Water / Mineral Water

It is directed that FSSAI licensed importers shall import packaged drinking water/mineral water to India only from foreign manufacturers who have obtained BIS certification. The labelling of the packaged drinking water or natural mineral water shall be as prescribed under FSS (Packaging and labelling) Regulations, 2011. Further, all authorized officers are directed to ensure that the imported packaged drinking water and mineral water without BIS certification and other FSSAI requirement shall not be cleared through their respective point of entries.
