VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN ON THE EUROPEAN LEGISLATIVE AGENDA

The European Commission has announced that it will initiate the process for the adoption of a regulatory framework for vegetarian and vegan food. the Decision follows from a citizens initiative and will consider the mandatory labelling of foods as respectively non-vegetarian, vegetarian, or vegan. The anticipated proposal will also involve the establishment of definitions on the terms âvegetarianâ and âveganâ.
