Amendment to implement front labeling of transgenic products

Congresswoman Celeste Sánchez Romero presented an initiative to amend several provisions of the General Law of Health and Biosafety of Genetically Modified Organisms, in order to implement a frontal labeling of transgenic products.
The Congresswoman commented: "Currently in Mexico there is a discussion regarding the effects caused by the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) and the consumption of transgenic foods produced in the country, since accurate information has not been disseminated on the risks involved for the environment and the consequences on human health".
