Amendment to the Food Labeling Regulation

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is making major changes to the "food label regulation". According to the draft, misleading expressions, names and images cannot be used on food labels. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has prepared a draft amendment to Turkey's Food Codex Regulation on food labeling and consumer information. Consequently, the food name and content information will be written 2.5 times larger depending on the size of the package. The flavoring image cannot be found on the label of a food that uses only flavoring rather than fruits or vegetables in its production.
