CFSA announces safety review for approval of new food ingredients and additives

The China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) announces the safety review of a number of new foods and food additives.

 

  • New types of food additives, such as lactase, and four new types of food-related products, such as 2-(5-chloro-2H-benzotriazole-2-yl)-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-methylphenol. For further information (in Chinese), click on the Link

 

  • New food raw materials from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the application of new food additives for 16 substances such as potassium polyaspartate and the application of new food-related products for 11 substances such as 1,1'-methylenebis(4-isocyanatocyclohexane) homopolymer.   • New food raw materials, six substances such as L-selenomethylselenocysteine that are applied as new food additives and six substances such as adipic acid polymer, 2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol and p-tert-butylbenzoic acid that are applied as new food-related products.   • New food raw materials, two substances, including Xanthoceras sorbifolia seeds, which are applied as new food raw materials, three substances, including β-amylase, which are applied as new varieties of food additives, and three substances, including glass fiber, which are applied as new varieties of food-related products.   • New substances, such as peach gum, which are applied for new food raw materials, six substances, such as serine protease, which are applied for new varieties of food additives, and five substances, such as C.I.   • New substances, including Paraguayan holly leaves (yerba mate leaves), applied as new food raw materials, two substances, including edible tannins, applied as new food additives, and four substances, including N,N'-hexyl-1,6-di[3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionamide], applied as new food-related products.
