SIECA bans the use of the additive erythrosine (red No. 3) in foodstuffs

The Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA in Spanish) has published Resolution No. 496-2025 (COMIECO-CX) by which it excludes from Annexes A (NORMATIVE) and B (NORMATIVE), Central American Technical Regulations - RTCA 67.04.54:18 Processed Foods and Beverages. Food Additives, the food additive “INS 127 erythrosine (red No. 3)”. Consequently, all reference, denomination, INS number, maximum permitted dose, reference legislation, functional class and remarks, to the food additive erythrosine (INS 127) for all food categories listed therein are eliminated from said Annexes.
