FDA amends food additives regulation

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed the amendments to Appendix 1 of the Standards for the Specification, Scope, Application, and Limitation of Food Additives. Most of the changes will take effect on July 1, 2027, with the exception of updates concerning the use of carnauba wax on fruits, sodium selenite, and magnesium citrate in infant foods labeled for premature babies, as well as revisions related to flavorings, which will take effect immediately.
