Updated requirements for food labeling and consumer information
Turkey
Dec 02, 2024
Turkey's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has updated its “Turkish Food Codex Consumer Information and Labeling Regulation Guide”, tightening rules to avoid misleading food packaging and misleading claims.
Food companies have until December 31, 2026 to adapt their products to the updated standards. After this date, products that do not meet the standards will be withdrawn from the market.
Key changes focus on ensuring that food labels, terms, and visuals do not misrepresent the product's nature, composition or origin.
