Belarus to develop 43 food standards by 2024

The head of the department of technical regulation and standardization of Gosstandart Oksana Grishkevich announced at the XVI international scientific and practical conference “Economic independence of the agro-industrial complex in new conditions”, which was held at the Research Institute of Systems in Agro - Industrial Complex of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarusthat 43 standards for food products will be developed by 2024.

Grishkevich noted that food safety issues are in the field of vision of all governmental structures of the country, without exception. The technical regulatory system of the republic and the Eurasian Economic Union makes its contribution. It is based on mandatory technical regulations and standards.

“The mission of state standards, the fund of which is constantly being expanded and updated, is to support the implementation of the requirements of technical regulations, the production of competitive and high-quality products, their export, the introduction of innovations and optimal use. Thus, 52 unified technical regulations have been adopted in the Union to date, of which 47 have entered into force. At the same time, 11 of these documents apply to agricultural products and are constantly being updated. developed,” said the specialist.

Products labeled with signs “Natural product” and “Organic product” are popular among consumers. Currently in Belarus 121 certificates are issued to 38 manufacturing enterprises that grant the right to label 354 types of food products with the “Natural product” symbol. Nine manufacturers are certified organic.
