BPOM to implement front nutritional warning labeling

The Agency for the Supervision of Medicines and Food (BPOM in Indonesian) announced that its Director Taruna Ikrar, visited the office of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) in order to discuss the implementation of front-end warning labeling for critical nutrients (sugar, salt and fat) on packaged foods, more precisely to know the opinions of BPOM and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the implementation of this labeling.
Considering the impact on public health, the Government of Indonesia is trying to overcome non-communicable diseases through health policies regulated in Law Number 17 of 2023 on Health.
