MAPA announces the review of analytical parameters of juices, fruit pulps and derived products

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) issued Resolution SDA/ MAPA No. 1173, which proposes to revise Annex I of Regulatory Instruction No. 37, dated October 1, 2018 - Technical Regulation on Quality and Characteristics of Fruit and Vegetable Juices and their Derived Products. The main contents of the revision are: deletion of the minimum content limit for total sugars for juice products and addition of a new maximum content limit of 14g/100g in Annex I (Physicochemical and quality criteria for products); deletion of the minimum limit for pH and total acidity for pulp products and addition of a new maximum limit (pH up to 4.5 and total acidity up to 0.5g/100g (in terms of citric acid content).
