According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 29, 2023 No. 2028 on the rules for labeling sturgeon caviar and salmon caviar (red caviar) for traceability purpose, from April 1, 2024, begins the first stage where caviar producers must register in the information system for tracking the turnover of goods. From May 1, 2024, companies will have to supply caviar with a code already applied on the packaging and send information to the tracking system. From June 1, 2026, companies will be required to transfer information on each unit of labeled goods to the system when circulating products and when withdrawing them from circulation.
