INAN amends deadlines for the progressive reduction of Trans Fats in foods

The National Institute of Food and Nutrition (INAN in Spanish) has published Resolution S.G. No. 043 amending the deadlines established in Resolution S.G. No. 411 for the progressive decrease of Trans Fatty Acids content in food.
All foods, including ingredients for industrial use, will have to comply with Resolution S.G. No. 411 starting from September 08, 2025.
The Resolution, which already applies to vegetable oils and margarine for direct consumption, sets the maximum limit of industrially produced trans fats at 2% of total fat content.
