New Draft Standard on Foods for Special Medical Purposes

The National Health Commission (NHC) has released for public comments the draft standard GB 29922 on Foods for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP).
The new version of GB 29922 will replace the current version of the standard (GB 29922-2013) which covers FSMP intended for consumers above the age of one, and in particular Nutritionally complete foods, Nutritionally complete foods with a specific formulations and Nutritionally incomplete foods.
The draft proposes to revise the FSMP types as well as label and technical requirements.
