New proposal to rule mislabeled egg alternatives

U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and John Fetterman (D-Pa.) have introduced the "Consistent Egg Labels Act" to create clear guidelines for the U.S. FDA to ensure any product labeled as "egg" is actually derived from poultry.
The bill would require the FDA to prohibit plant-based egg alternatives from using misleading terms in their branding.
