Amended Health Standards for Contaminants and Toxins in Food

The Ministry of Health and Welfare has issued the revised draft "Health Standards for Contaminants and Toxins in Food", to strengthen the management of heavy metal contaminants in food.
The revised draft adjusts and strengthens the limits for lead and cadmium in food categories such as infant food, infant drinks, nut oils, seeds and chocolate.
This draft provides a 60-day comment period from the date of the announcement.
