Approved Regulation on the Use of Stickers for Front Of Pack Warnings

The Congress of Peru has approved Law No. 31919, which modifies article 10 of Law 30021 on the "Promotion of Healthy Diet for Children and Adolescents", regarding the use of stickers for front of pack warnings.
According to the amended provision, imported products and products made by micro and small enterprises (MYPE) are allowed to label the following mandatory warnings:
- “High in (sodium / sugar / saturated fat, as the case may be): avoid excessive consumption”
- “Contains trans fats: avoid consumption
by using a dedicated sticker, which shall be difficult to remove and shall not cover the mandatory information to consumers.
