Amendment to the Law on promotion of healthy eating for children and adolescents approved

The Consumer Defense Commission (CODECO in Spanish) unanimously approved the amednment to Law n. 30021 on promotion of healthy eating for children and adolescents.
The initiative aims at modifying articles 4, 8 and 10 of the mentioned law and incorporates the phrase "not recommended for pregnant women" in those products not suitable for pregnant women, which affect the normal growth of the child.
The Ministry of Health encourages pregnant women to consume foods with proteins and promotes in the media the advantages for pregnant women of eating healthy with natural foods of high nutritional content necessary for the growth of the child.
