Official labeling requirements for vegan and vegetarian products published

The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Technology (ANMAT in Spanish) has published information on how to request the official recognition for the use of the "Vegan" label on different food products. To obtain the official recognition from the "Evaluation Commission for the Authorization of the Use of the Vegan Attribute in Food Products" the following is needed:
- Application note for the use of the "vegan" label;
- Affidavit, ensuring that the food in question is prepared in accordance with the terms of article 229 of the Argentine Food Code;
- Technical data sheet, indicating ingredients and product specifications.
