SAMR to revise advertising rules for Drugs, Medical Devices, Health Food and FSMP

In order to strengthen the supervision and management of advertisements for drugs, medical devices, health foods, and food for special medical purposes, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has organized the review of the Provisional Measures for the Review and Management of Advertisements for Drugs, Medical Devices, Health food.
One of the objectives of the review is to strictly monitor health function claims in accordance with the "Food Safety Law Regulation" which states that "foods that are not health foods should not claim to have health functions", and to clarify that advertisements for foods that are not health foods should not claim to have health functions.
