Draft Resolution on packaging, coatings, utensils, lids and metallic equipment in contact with food published.

Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) published Draft resolution number 1134, 23 December 2022. This Draft Resolution proposes the modification of the current regulatory framework regarding the provisions for packaging, coatings, utensils, lids and metallic equipment in contact with food.
The health authority deems it necessary to allow 25 new stainless steel alloys as metallic raw materials authorized for the production of metallic packaging and equipment, as well as new references for some alloys already approved; to allow stainless steel alloys with the surface completely blackened, vitrified, enameled or protected with polymeric coatings as metallic raw materials authorized for the production of metallic packaging and equipment; among others; protection of human health or safety.
