New Regulation on the preparation of hamburgers published

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA in Spanish) published Ordinance No. 724 which establishes the new Technical Regulation of Identity and Quality for hamburgers produced in establishments under the Federal Inspection Service (SIF), such as meat packing plants. The establishments will have a period of one year to adapt to the standards.

The new Regulation does not apply to hamburgers produced in butcher shops, supermarkets and establishments registered in other inspection areas, such as state and municipal inspection services that are not yet part of the Brazilian Animal Products Inspection System (SISBI).
