President signs law establishing Liberia Standards Authority

The President of Liberia George Weah signed into law a series of bills. The official Facebook page of the Liberia Presidency and government websites describe the measures as a spur to national inclusiveness and to fight corruption. Amongst the bills signed is “an Act to Establish the Liberia Standards Authority.
Stephen Mambu, punto de contacto del Codex para Liberia, dijo: “Liberia ahora tiene un organismo nacional de normalización conocido como la Autoridad de Normas de Liberia (LiSA). Como parte de esta legislación, el Punto de contacto del Codex se ubicará dentro de LiSA. Este es un hito para la estandarización en Liberia que definitivamente tendrá un impacto en el Codex y la seguridad alimentaria en Liberia”.
