Regulations on iodized and non-iodized salt

The National Food and Nutrition Institute (INAN in Spanish) published Draft Technical Regulations on iodized and non-iodized salt; providing requirements and conditions for the production, fractionation and import authorization of this product; establishing general provisions for its monitoring, control and surveillance; repealing S.G. Resolution No. 599 of 22 October 2014; and repealing S.G. Resolution No. 26 of 5 February 2015.

The purpose of notified draft Technical Regulation is to guarantee the safety and quality of iodized and non-iodized salt and potassium iodate, by providing the requirements and conditions for the production, fractionation and import authorization of this product, and establishing general provisions for its monitoring, control and surveillance.
