Amendments to food norms and standards published

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announces the publication of several amendments to food norms and standards on the following topics:

  • Heavy metal content in edible insects.

  • Review of the definition of types of vinegar to be able to manufacture several types of vinegar other than liquid, and it is allowed to prepare food and spiced drinks in the form of tablets.

  • General principles for the classification of new foods and their definitions are established.

  • Review of conservation standards for dehydrated products.
