New Limits for Trans Fat in Foods Are Published on the Food Code

The contents of trans acid fat from industrial production in foods cannot be bigger than 2% of the total contents of fat in vegetable oils and margarine for direct consumption and 5% of the total contents of fat in the rest of foods, including those that are not used as ingredients and raw material. Those limits do not apply to the fat from ruminants, including milk fat.
