COMMISSION TO FURTHER CONSIDER ORIGIN LABELLING

In response to Parliamentary questions, the European Commission has indicated it will further investigate the extension of mandatory origin or provenance indications for certain foods. The Commission recognises that consumer are increasingly interested in origin information. The assessment of origin indication for specific foods or food categories will therefore be part of the Farm to Fork Strategy.
