New Regulations relating to meat analogues intended for sale

The Department of Agriculture has published an draft Regulations relating to meat analogues intended for sale in the republic of South Africa. The proposed regulations set minimum standards for meat analogues and prescribe the labelling of such products when presented for sale as well as the control system to ensure compliance to the standards. Food safety issues are excluded from the proposed regulations.
