ASEAN holds the 39th meeting of the Working Group on Processed Foods

Recently the AESAN celebrated the 39th Meeting of the Prepared Foodstuff Product Working Group (PFPWG) in Da Nang, Viet Nam The Meeting was preceded by the following meetings:
a) The 12th Meeting of the Joint Sectoral Committee on MRA for Inspection and Certification Systems on Food Hygiene for Prepared Foodstuff Products (JSC MRA on PF)
b) The 25th Meeting of the ASEAN Food Testing Laboratory Committee (AFTLC),
c) The 10th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Harmonisation of Prepared Foodstuff Standards (ACHPFS)
Significant outcomes from the meetings, include among others:
1. Endorsement of the revised Annex 1 and Annex 2 of MRA on PF;
2. Endorsement of 6 food additives, to be included in List 1 ‘Harmonised ASEAN MLs on Food Additives’;
3. Endorsement of 2 contaminants in food, to be included in Annex II: ASEAN Standards for Contaminants and Toxins in Food and Feed; and
4. Endorsement of the final version of ASEAN Guidelines on Nutrition Labelling.
