MFDS modifies food functional labeling or advertising requirements

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has published Notice No. 2024-62 to revise parts of the functional labeling or advertising requirements for food products.
The main contents
- Develop functional raw material requirements for food: functional raw materials added to food need to be proven effective through human application tests; Add in accordance with the required proportion; Manufacturers of functional raw material ingredients are required to obtain HACCP or GMP certification.
- The inspection method indicated on the label of functional ingredients may adopt the specified inspection process and method; The detected value of the functional component content is at least 80% of the labeled value; The content of the functional raw material or ingredient shown on the label must be maintained up to the shelf life, at least 6 months from the date of production or import.
