MFDS clarifies Rules on the Re-evaluation of Functional Raw Materials

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has published the Draft Public Notice No. 2023-606, "Administrative Notice of Partial Amendment of the Regulations on the Re-evaluation of Functional Raw Materials".
The proposed amendments seek to clarify that, as provided by article 15-2 of the Health Functional Food Act, the functional raw materials notified or approved can be modified or revoked as a result of re-evalutation. In particular, functional raw materials can be canceled if, following the re-evaluation, all functional contents are not recognized.
