The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has published a Consultation on proposed reforms to the authorization process for regulated products that includes removing renewal requirements for food additives, food or feed containing, consisting of or produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and smoke flavoring.
The FSA has deemed that the marketing authorization process is in urgent need of modernization. This reform will ensure that high standards of food and feed safety are maintained, while improving the process to make the service more efficient and fit for purpose.
